Art Muscle Visualizer

Electromyography (EMG) is the measurement of muscle activity. This prototype captures electrical signal on the surface of the arm during the process of painting or drawing, and converts the time series data into a digital artifact- generated in real time. The concept explores transmedia byproducts of our conscious and subconscious creative processes.
Lab Rat Simulator
Muse EEG, Unity, Python (for OSC)
A short experience in the brain of a lab rat. The Muse EEG headband's gyroscopic data controls player movement (forward, stop, and rotate) while electrode signals detect user blinking. Blinking toggles between two sets of lab doors, offering a simple puzzle for players to engage with as they navigate the maze.
Interactive Heartbeat

Wearing a commercial heart rate monitor, this prototype converts the heartbeat into an interactive particle simulation. Each beat is shown as a visual pulse, and the entire system can be manipulated using hand motion captured from the computer's webcam.
Gesture-Based Audio Mixer
Google MediaPipe, TouchDesigner
An experiment in embodied sonification, this prototype live mixes two repeating sounds based on the distance between left hand to face and right hand to face. Sounds begin when the respective hand is in frame, and grow louder the farther that hand is from the face.
Light-Up Lining
LilyPad Pixel Board, Arduino Uno, Fabric
A very basic prototype embedding programmable LEDs into the lining of example fabric. A pre-programmed Arduino behavior is triggered and stopped from the computer. This circuit was created as a proof-of concept for a larger network of LEDs felted inside the inner lining of a large textile structure.
