INSTALLATION - PERFORMANCES
Neuron Mirror Neuron
Mugic IMU, Max/MSP, Delta Harp
Mirror Neurons are brain cells that activate when two people perform the same action- "mirroring" each other. This piece explores the creation of a shared physical vocabulary, using the orb interface to help audience and performer find common ground through gestural expression. The process is sonified, creating playful and individualized musical textures.
Harp/Body/Mind Machine
Muse EEG, MindMonitor, Camera, Max/MSP
Part performance, part sound installation, and part meditation: A soft industrial house beat is divided in three according to the classical trio of Heart, Body, and Mind: The Mind, represented by a Muse EEG, and Body, represented by Webcam, are real-time controllers that audience members are invited to interact with. Hypnotic harp melodies act as the Heart, connecting the sounds of all three inputs.
Same Sun
Arduino Micro, Photosensor, Ableton Live
Same Sun is a metaphor for collective action. The prototype photosensor circuit measures ambient lightness in the room, changing the lo-fi music correspondingly. From a distance, one person's light makes no difference- but the combined light of an entire crowd has the power to influence the installation.
